Impeachment Now

The election count is in and the President won. Now it is time to start the republican impeachment of President Obama. Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee started the ball rolling September 28th in a Fox News interview. Five weeks before the election Huckabee was demanding impeachment, this worked so well with the last two term Democratic President and Huckabee wanted to be in the vanguard. President Clinton’s impeachment was the result of decades of committed opposition and tens of millions in tax payer dollars, most of the early work done in private by a small group. This time we have social media, it is hard to call it a conspiracy when it is so public. Tweets on #impeachobama while facebook has “Impeach Obama”, additionally we have blogs and online petitions. There is no consensus as of yet for the legal basis or specific offense for impeachment. That was the same early problem with President Clinton. The important thing is to persevere.
Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution say, “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” There is plenty of room here for creative interpretation. Donald Trump’s tweets indicate that we need to impeach a Kenyan citizen, Huckabee is pushing for Treason. Many more support an open ended “Misdemeanors” approach such as the group that denies Human-caused climate change favoring the case that President Obama created Hurricane Sandy.
I don’t believe that these are partisan sore losers, conspiracy theorist or hard right-wing nuts blindly striking out in grief. No these are people that want Vice-President Joe Biden to be President. These are highly intelligent people with deep foresight wishing to give Joe a lock on the 2016 election.
