The way it was

Polls are the best measure of reality, the wisdom of crowds insures that complicated issues are best resolved by polling the public. Polls about healthcare show that ObamaCare will destroy America’s exceptionalism. Any that question the truth of these ObamaCare polls must consider the truth reveled by other polls. Polls rating driver skill proved that 88% of Americas self identified as better than average drivers, while another poll proved that 75% of the “other” drivers are worst than average. A 16th century poll of the best educated medieval scholars proved the earth is flat and the center of the universe. Polls can cut through the ideology and answer the question. Just ask yourself, would you prefer an exceptional and free America or Obama’s socialist health care? Polls conducted by unbiased professionals are clearly the only research needed by any politician.
We should return to the pre ObamaCare healthcare system, a free market system based on maximizing corporate profits, a simple and elegant business plan of collecting premiums and then denying claims. The free market profit system was working like a dream; the healthcare customer was guaranteed coverage, at a low cost, until the customer needed healthcare. American’s were protected from catastrophic medical events until a catastrophic medical event actually happened. Before ObamaCare health insurance could be denied for preexisting conditions, your insurance could be cancelled arbitrarily, we all had yearly and lifetime dollar limits, dependent children where no longer dependent at age 18, your health insurance could be cancelled while you were in the hospital, and medical expenses where the leading cause of personal bankruptcy. All these freedoms have now been lost.
I was a small business owner that offered health insurance to all employees, each year I had the pleasure of negotiating with the health insurance providers. I had the pleasure of writing a check every month to the health insurance provider. In the state of Texas during the 1990s, each year the cost increased by double digits and the benefits decreased, as a small business I had no negotiating leverage. I fondly remember thinking “What a GREAT healthcare system we have in America”! Now the commie socialist government thugs are forcing insurance companies to follow rules. Government rules will destroy the free market.
The conservatives are fighting to restore our freedoms. Hopefully they can extent our freedom into homeowners insurance. The cost of homeowners insurance will surely drop once the insurance company can cancel your policy as soon as the fire department is called, and using wood for construction will be a preexisting condition. Then something can be done about car insurance being compulsory. We need to return to the standards of 1776 and our founding fathers.

Neanderthal Evolution

In 1856 in the Neander Valley of Germany a skull was discovered. Three years later with the publication of Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species”, the skull was identified as the missing link between modern humans and our ancestral simian roots. Similar remains had been discovered in 1829 but it took the Neander Valley find to establish the scientific classification of Neanderthal. The Neanderthal was considered a subhuman precursor and there forth an animal.

Scientific research progressed slowly; by the 1920s the picture of the Neanderthal had improved to semi-intelligent hunter gathers’ and new pictures arrived. The Neanderthal was described as primitive, brutish, dumb and exceedingly ugly. H.G. Wells suggested that an ancient cultural memory of the Neanderthals persisted in modern human culture as the basis of trolls and ogres.

By the 1960s continuing research into morphology improved the picture. The Neanderthal now had human like emotions and basic intelligence.

Then DNA research arrived, finding the genes for flaxen hair and blue/green eyes. Between 2% and 4% of the DNA of modern humans is Neanderthal in origin.

More research and the picture improved once more.

Now in 2013 the latest research has the female looking pretty good.

Neanderthal man became extinct about 30,000 years ago, Neanderthal woman appears to have prospered and spread widely.
